Larry Lee Herlache, 51, N4518 Hwy.42, Kewaunee, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 7, while on a family fishing trip in Canada.

He was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Algoma to Ruth (Krohn) Herlache and the late Roland Herlache.  Aug. 10, 1968, he married Gail Kostichka at St. Mary's Church, Algoma.

He worked for Wisconsin Public Service Corp. as a lineman for 28 years.  He was a member and treasurer of the Kewaunee School Board, treasurer and lifetime member of Whitetails Unlimited.  He was a hunter safety instructor for gun and bow hunting, former Boy Scout Leader of Troop 1126.  He was an active Booster Club member and was instrumental in the development of the sports complex at Kewaunee High School which is still under construction.  He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and formerly served on maintenance committee.  He received the Chamber of Commerce "Person of the Year" award in 1995.

Survivors included his wife, Gail of 28 years; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Terrence and Dawn, Kewaune3e, Kelly, Green Bay and Chad, at home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Christine and Mark Stangel, Kewaunee and Amber Herlache, at home; two grand-daughters, Stephanie and Sarah Herlache, Kewaunee; mother Ruth (Krohn) Herlache, Algoma and special friend, Steve Steinberger; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and JoAnne Herlache, Green Bay; one sister and three brothers-in-law, Shirley and Virgil Brusky, Green Bay, Dave LeGrave, Casco and Michael Mott, Brillion; mother-in-law, Ruby (Deisart) Kostichka, Algoma; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russ and Judy Charles, Green Bay, Tom and Mary Kostichka, Green Bay, Ron and Sandy Finnel, Forestville and Dan and Jean Kostichka, Sturgeon Bay.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Herlache; two sisters, Pat LeGrave and Sandy Mott; and his father-in-law, Melvin Kostichka; two nephews, Dean Herlache and Aaron Brusky and one great-niece, Brooke McDermid.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday and until 10:30 a.m. at Buchanan Funeral home, 1425 'Ellis St., Kewaunee.  A wake service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, the Rev. Daniel Dewane officiating.  Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
