Ken Herlache
After graduation, Ken worked in the Plywood until entering the Army in 1966
and was discharged in 1968. He went back to work at the Plywood until 1976.
On October 5, 1968, he married Joanne LaCrosse and lived near Rosiere until
1978 when they moved to Green Bay. He worked at Atlas Cold Storage until he
became disabled in 1998. Ken loved working on his father-in-law's farm and
going up north where he cleared a piece of land. He would take the children
fishing, swimming, and dirt bike riding. Ken was a boy scout leader during
the time our boys were in the scouts. They would go on overnight sleep outs
and activities at the arena. He also made chicken booyah for fund raisers.
Ken had a great relationship with his in-laws, and they often went up north
with Ken, myself, and the kids. Ken cherished his kids and grand-kids. He
especially had this special thing with granddaughter, Kelsi Jo. She was
three years old and would run off with his cane to tease him. The kids and
grand-kids would come home every Sunday for supper, a very special time for
Ken and myself. Ken died on January 14, 2002 of a cerebral hemorrhage.
