After graduation, I spent a couple of months with interviews, tests,
etc. for possible employment with the CIA. I decided not to accept their
offer of employment, so in October, 1964, I began working for Badger
Northland in the office. I worked there until January, 1971. Badger
Northland sold to The Calumet Company, and I was hired in sales and traffic
in February, 1971. The company downsized in 1982, so I became a stay-at-home
mom until January, 1985. I then started my own business called Silver Creek
Upholstery. I have been in the upholstery business for twenty years. In 2002,
my husband and I began a second business called Birds and Beyond. Gene and I
enjoy working together designing and manufacturing our various products and
attending craft sales. And here it is, 2004, with no plans for retirement.
