Patricia Rye Delforge
After graduation, I moved to Green Bay to attend NWTC for business, but
before I finished I was accepted at WPSC. Priscilla Timble and I shared an
apartment during that time, and she still reminds me of the crazy, fun and
stupid things we used to do. In 1966, I met a great guy named Pat Delforge
who told me if we ever broke up I'd never forget his name. We married and
moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for his job, but in six months the Army came
knocking. In 1968, on our first anniversary, he left for Vietnam. In 1970,
we relocated to Fort Riley, Kansas. Then in 1971, we returned to Green Bay
and my old job at WPSC. I have been in payroll since 1995. In October, 1987,
we lost my mom to cancer and in 1989, my dad passed away. The 90's didn't
start out to cool. I had surgery for the beginning stages of ovarian cancer.
Now I have plenty to look forward to. My favorite past-time is gardening and
landscape design. We have traveled to Colorado, Hawaii, and Portugal. My
favorite is going to a condo in Door County on sunny days in October. Future
plans are to retire in a few years and do more traveling.
