After graduation, Nate attended vocational school in Green Bay for Computer
Programming. After graduating in 1966, he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He
served one year of his hitch in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Army in
1968, he returned to Algoma and worked at Badger Northland. The company
moved him to the Appleton area as a Quality Control Supervisor in 1969. That
same year, he married Sue Holub. We lived in that area for two years. In
1971, we moved to Iron Ridge where Nate took a job at Micro Design in
Hartford. Nate was promoted from Quality Control to Customer Service Manager
for this growing micro fiche reader company. He traveled frequently for this
position. He was very involved in his church and community as a volunteer
fire fighter and EMT. He died in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from a stroke caused by a
brain tumor on July 25, 1981. His two sons fulfilled his dream by moving to
California. I married Steve Younk in 1983. Steve and I both are teachers. We
have one daughter, Leah, who is a sixteen year old and keeps us young. |
