"This lad is so very meek, even his shoes refuse to squeak." |

After graduation, I attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. In
1968,1 received a BS in Agriculture Chemistry. That summer, I was employed
by Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan, in Biochemistry Research. Later n
1968, after getting my draft papers, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy for four
years. Upon discharge from the Navy in 1972,1 attended the University of
Wisconsin in Madison and received a Masters Degree in Business. Upon
graduating in 1974,1 began working for the State of Wisconsin in various
departments, doing accounting. In May, 2004,1 received a thirty year state
service recognition plaque from Governor Doyle. Two days later my name fell
off the plague. Sure hope that is not an indication of things to come. Right
now, I take each day at a time and survive. Both of my children have their
own cars and my out of pocket expenses have exploded. My son is enrolled in
a private college for next year. My retirement plans are currently on hold.
I am hoping to have a projected retirement date by our next reunion. |
