After graduation, I worked in construction for the summer and then in the
U.S. Plywood for six months. The following spring, I returned to construction
until September of '65 when I entered the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge
from the Air Force in November, 1968, I was employed at the Badger Northland
Plant and the Calumet Company, both in Algoma, for the next two and a half
years. In May of 1971, I got married and purchased a farm west of
Forestville in Door County, Wl. I farmed till October, 1985. Between then
and October, 1993,1 worked as a foreman in a farm machinery shop, returned
to farming on my original farm twice in Forestville, and worked in sales. In
October, 1993,1 quit farming for good. It was time for a career change, so
we moved to Algoma in 1994, and I went back to school. I graduated in May of
1998 with a degree in accounting. Shortly after, I got a job in Sturgeon Bay
where I am presently employed. At the moment I have no retirement plans.
Lila has just finished her thirty-sixth year as a fourth grade teacher in
the Luxemburg-Casco School District. And that brings us to June, 2004, our
