After graduation, I stayed in Algorna for the summer. In fail, I went to Vocational School in Green Bay and took a general business course. Pat (Rye) Delforge and I shared an apartment for three years. After attending school for one semester, I got a job at AC Nielson Co. I married Don Smith in 1968. I worked at Nielsen's until 1969 when I became pregnant with our first child (I thought). The child turned out to be children, twin girls. I was a stay-at-home mom for about thirteen years. I then got a job at the "new" Kohl's Department Store in the East Town Mall as a sales associate. After ten years, I was getting tired of working nights and holidays. I then took a six week course in office skills. I got a part-time job at Encompass Child Care doing the bookkeeping. It eventually became full time, and I was able to quit Kohl's. I have worked at Encompass for thirteen years and enjoy it. I do a variety of jobs, and I like that because it keeps the work interesting. I enjoy reading, crafts, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to taking a trip to Florida in fall to meet my new granddaughter.
