Algoma High School Graduating Class of 1931

We strongly believe the AHS Class of 1931 did not create or publish an Annual of their school activities, based on a number of factors.  Our father, Orland Fred Heuer, graduated with this class and he certainly would have kept his annual as he did all other important documents of his life.  We have his AHS diploma, which was different than many of those of that era by including two items machine-printed on the back.  One was titled “Algoma High School” with information about the class and the second was the “Class Roll” listing the 60 members of the 1931 class who graduated with him.  His diploma and the two items on the back follow this information page.

 Following those are pages from the 1929 Crescent Beach Echoes, reproduced here as they include a photo and members of the 1929 Sophomore Class who would/might be graduating in 1931.  The Class Roll of the Sophomore Class of 1929 lists 57 members and a quick comparison shows there were five listed who did not graduate with the 1931 class and seven who graduated in 1931 that were not with the class in 1929.  We have not identified them by name since we now know the actual graduates of the Class of 1931.

If and when the 1931 Annual is ever discovered, we will display it here in its entirety.  We humbly doubt that will happen.     

As we receive update information from Algoma Alumni as to their current status, we will create links from the pages below to each person that provides pictures and bios information.  So check occasionally to see if the information you are looking for is posted.
